What allowing gravity to dictate my swing really feels like...I always muscled it and thought I wasn't.

Stop trying to prove to the young bucks that I can make the ball go coast to coast also.  Let the ball do the work.

I learned that I still choke in tournaments, that my 10 pin spare conversion continues to drop, that my rev rate is reaching out of control, that bowling after heavy squatting or deadlifting the night before only hurts the teams chances of winning, that drinking beer after a 240 game will only result in a 150 game, that I am carrying too much sh***ty equipment, ARGHHH!H!!!

I learned that as I have gotten older, my footwork and slide have gone to crap!  Not getting low enough on the lane and losing leverage.  Not sliding under my body and kicking trail leg out like I used to is again causing me to fall off the shot and lose leverage.  Thankfully these are correctable and am half way back to when I used to be semi-good!

Me too..

I also lerned that I'm not consistent enough so that my game suffers when I'm not on a THS or when the lane breaks down and I need to be very accurate.

Coming back from a broken leg has taught me to stay slow with my feet and find better balance at the line. When I get fast with my feet my timing suffers and so does everything else there after. Better balance is a work in progress.

I tried coming back from a broken left leg and kneecap too soon a couple of seasons ago, with horrible results with balance, timing, and just being able to support my weight at the foul line. I took this season off to drop some pounds and rebuild leg strength...

I have learned that I really need to go back to practicing once a week and bowling more than one league a week. Averaging 218 on something I used to averaging 230+ on and getting killed by handicap in matchplay is just discouraging. I guess after a full year of only one league a week and no prctice and then taking the summer off and now back to only one league a week and still not practicing (Thanks to work damnit), I shouldn't expect much but....hey I just realized something else......I HATE TO LOSE!!!

I have learned that by lengthing my span a bit, I can swing the ball a wee bit better with less force than I normally do. I am currently still working on this and since lengthing span, have added more reverse pitch to fingers and reduced reverse pitch in thumb by 1/8 to date.

I've learned that covering a 7 pin takes extra concentration or I will miss it on the right side, while I cover 10 pins in my sleep. Weird ain't I?

I'm learning to be patient with ball reaction as I seem to have a better ball reaction in a tougher house than in an easier scoring house, at least based on the two leagues I currently bowl in.
