Back to the original topic/question...it is also entirely possible that there would be problems maintaining the success with a significant loss of weight. Not everyone who has to potentially undo 20 or so years of a particular style fares well with a new style even if it is just minor tweaks to the game to adjust for something like loss of weight.
As to style...who cares? There are lots of people who can hook the lane but don't do anything with it in terms of wins. Given the choice of classic style or 35 regional banners and a handful of TV shows, I would gladly step to the line for the banners and shows. It isn't the style that gets the job done- it is the consistency with which one plies that style, and say what you will about the Brothers Traber, WRW, Haugen, the Brothers Scroggins and a host of others- if they are nothing else, they are generally consistent.
