Not an expert, but pretty sure the Burgandy was the oiler.

The Burgundy handled oil much better for me...but the Blue was *wayyyy* more versatile overall.

Actually my purple Hammer was a great oiler in the day. Just my 2 cents.

If you sanded a Red Pearl Hammer it out hooked both the Blue and the Burgundy on oily lanes.

The Burgundy was the most porous and therefore capableof handling more oil than the blue or black...however, if you didn't keep the ball clean,it hooked less than the Pink.

The Blue was far less sensitive to a poor cleaning regimen.

Many people said the Purple actually had a stronger backend reaction than the others. I don't know how that's possible but that's what I have heard from bowlers.

Burgundy was the big oil ball.  I had the purple and loved it.  Was really good in oil.  Blue went to long and black was really dry or 10pin ball.

I would second that. I had a pair of these one drilled axis balanced and the other with the pin on the leverage point. I kept the pin-axis polished and the pin-leverage dull and these were two of the strongest back end balls I had and this was during the time of the Turbo X and the Rhino Pro.

Still have and use my Hammers: a Burgandy, 2 Blues, Purple, Black and Pink. The Burgandy handles the most oil, the Blue and Purple are about the same but the Purple is a little cleaner in the front. Black is a slightly less hooking Blue and the Pink is money on toast.
