Your greatest bowling accomplishment?
« on: July 30, 2009, 04:48:34 AM »
Lol here's one that will get a million replies . .  Whether you've won a PBA title, or regional, or even if your only accomplishment so far is a 300 on a house shot, I'm curious what people on this site have accomplished.  Doesn't have to be a score, it could be a tournament win, could be a nice few game set, could be mastering a certain look, could be beating a pro, could be successfully figuring out a seemingly impossible shot, what have you.  Or maybe you have more than one that you're proud of, list them all.  As for me . .

I have a 200+ average with both hands.

I've cashed in EVERY SINGLE tournament I've bowled in that has a format of 10 games or more, and I'm talking 25-30 of them.

We won our men's league back to back years.  Our team is made up of myself, my brother, my dad, best friend and my father in law. There's not alot of money in the league , and it sounds corny but the prestige makes it worth it.

The couple of years I got to bowl with my father and 2 brothers, we also had my dad's brother and my mom's brother bowling with us. Some great memories from the year or two we did it.

Haha, ok.  The topic doesn't have anything to do with being good, that's why I asked for best personal accomplishments, not to say I'm so good, but to see what different people value as being an accomplishment.  Call it an experiment in psychology.  Your profile "song" is freakin awesome btw . .

2 years ago I got a triplicate.  In the tenth frame of game 3, I had to get three pins on the first ball and one pin on the second ball to do it.

It is a good memory because it was the end of the year, I was having an off year and our team was mired in last place.  But it reminds one that any given week, none of us knows what any of us might be able to accomplish.

My biggest bowling accomplishment is getting Ritchie Spotsato to say "I'm sorry."

Now top that!

Winning my first tournament in 1999.

Shooting my career high in league last season with 290 (though I have shot perfect games during practice).

Finish a career high in 7th place singles handicap series and 3rd high game handicap in city tournament in 2008.

Typical response from someone who's greatest accomplishment was finding a drool cup......

Probably my most satisfying accomplishment has been seeing real progress in coaching junior bowlers. Some have real talent and will be very good if they stick with it. We need new blood coming up through the ranks to keep the sport alive.

1) qualified 5th in a pba regional tournament.

2) went through an 8 game block in a pba regional and missed no spares.

3) went through an 8 game block in a pba regional tournamemt and threw no gutterballs while going down the 2-3 board on the cheetah pattern.

4) my partner and i set our association's scratch doubles record( 1,498 ).

all four of these accomplishemnts rank higher than my 300 games and 800 series.

Lowest winning score in the High Roller or my 3rd place in the Pete

3rd in the Pete? thats very impressive!

I have a few memories that stand out...

1. Winning a High school State Championship in bowling after 4 years without a title. The team consisted of all seniors.

2. Our college team is so big, we are split into 3 teams when tournys come around. Well, this past year we had a few people leave the team, and I took there spot on that team. I was on the "A" team, and got moved down to the "B" team. Well the very first tourny, our team, consisting mostly of freshman, came in the top 8 teams at the baker tourny. That was awesome.

3. Not an accomplishment, but the fact that I regularly bowl 2 Jr. Team USA Members, a handful of top 20 collegiate bowlers, and some of the best adult bowlers the nation has to offer is a complete honor. Plus the fact that I get to bowl at one of the best bowling schools in the nation is an honor. I feel very priveledged.

Getting to see the pure joy and fun my daughter was having the first time she threw a strike. She was jumping up and down and saying "Look Daddy---no more pins!!!"
