Your scoring opinion.
« on: December 11, 2006, 02:17:18 PM »
Lots of posts on here lately about scoring.  Many say it is too high, others saying it's just fine.  I'm interested in seeing the opinions of some of you here on BR.

What, in YOUR opinion, is the scoring like?

For those who believe scoring is too high:  Has scoring gotten so easy that you feel you have no significant advantage over bowlers of lesser skill?

For those that don't feel scores are too high:  Are the people calling for tougher scoring conditions just taking themselves too seriously?

I think the scores are too low for me and too high for everyone else ... I actually don't think there is a problem with the scoring pace.  Everyone wants to bowl well.. everyone likes to shoot big scores...it keeps everyone into the game.  The only time I think the scoring conditions are too soft is when a person can allegedly shoot several 900 sets over the course of a month (oh wait a second that never REALLY happened).  Plus, at least once a year bowlers get an opportunity for a reality check while competing at USBC nationals...

so who's fault is it that the conditions are too easy?
tell your proprietor to lay down 5:1 instead of 10:1 house patterns.
Its just league.  People are there to have fun.
Bowl tournaments and sport for a challenge.
