History of MoRich
« on: August 09, 2005, 12:10:37 PM »
Someone give me how MoRich became a company? All I know is this avid bowler Mo Pinel who used to work for Brunswick? Is that right? Ok, who is Rich? Are they co owners or what? How much affiliation does MoRich have with Brunswick? Are they like what Revoultion was? What ever happend to them anyways? Sorry for all the questions but I'm just curious.

How is the Rich part pronounced? Like "rich" (as in wealthy, having a lot of money) or like "rick"?

As in wealthy... Rich.

They used to use BASF resins when Columbia was pouring the Colussus etc... I'm not sure where the Rich portion of the name comes from though.  I think That Mo has always used his own particle technology even though he uses another companies base resin.

As I recall, Mo Pinel originally owned a lane resurfacing company out of Virginia and that progressed to ball designing, as well as research and development on oils.  His knowledge of lane surfaces is very impressive.

Yes, Rich Sadles is the MoRich CFO and is the "Rich" in MoRich.

Mo Pinel, as far as I recall, developed/designed the core in the AMF XS balls and the 3D Offset series of balls that made Faball a true player in the resin ball market. I think the Truck was his last design for Faball. He may have designed some other asymmetric cores for another ball company, but I'm not sure about that.

As far as I know,
MoRich originally used Columbia coverstocks and Columbia manufactured MoRich balls to their specifications. As of the Ravage, Brunswick/Bayer coverstocks are used (Some of which are not  used by Brunswick) and Brunswick is manufacturing MoRich balls to their specs.

kotm,

I thought Mo also designed Faball's last Hammer, the Truck. It has all the earmarks of a Mo design: asymmetric core, flecks of mica in the shell like the Sledgehammer, etc.

It's my understanding that Del worked on the "Peak Particle" while still with AMF.  Perhaps Mo was also working with Del on that project, and therefore that's how he's contributed to the two Arsenal balls?

Probable, but was he the designer of the original Elite core?
