Bowlers

Just wanted to let you know, VMSBT will be running the 2nd Annual Baltimore/Washington Summer Scratch Classic again at BRC Perry Lanes August 15-16, 2009 paying $3,000 1st place GUARANTEED.  Last year we had 139 entries and we expect that number to increase this year. I will also have the pattern up on the website as soon as I determine which pattern I want to use. As some of you may know, I’m a big fan of Kegel patterns and we will have another one this year.

•   Entry fee:  $140 ($115 prize fund, $20 lineage, $5 expenses) payable by CASH ONLY
•   Survival boards: $10/ea (Starting games 2, 4 and 6)
•   High game pot: $40 (covers all 8 games of qualifying)
•   Winner Take All (WTA): $10 (Game 8 ONLY)
•   Brackets: $5/ea (3 sets) Starting games 2, 4 and 6
•   High Game of Day (Included in entry fee)
•   High Senior out of the money prize (50 and over bowlers)
•   High Female out of the money prize

THE LANES WILL BE STRIPPED AND RE-OILED AFTER THE 9AM SQUAD.

BRC Perry Hall Lanes is being gracious and putting the shot down from 5pm-8pm tomorrow (8/14). For those that are participating and may be in the area, please feel free to come and bowl on it. I will be there with my shoes on.

Why not forgo the regular tournaments which cost $70 to win anywhere from $500 to $800 and run 3 or 4 of these a year.  $140 for $3,000 four times per year would only be a $560 investment for a possible $12,000 where as nine $70 tournaments would be $630 for a potential $5,000 to $6,000.

I think with re-entries allowed and the right weekend every 3 months you could easily get 100-150 entries Tony.

The bowlers want one big tournament every quarter Tony.  Make it happen!  Take a poll (4 big tournaments or 9 small and 1 big) and see what the results would be.

Donald Trump....The reason the prize fund was so good was because there was added money.  There is no guarantee that the people/businesses that added money would able to do it 3 or 4 times a year.  Plus the year of build up and promoting helps make the tournament keep getting 140 plus entries each year.
