Bowlers

Just wanted to let you know, VMSBT will be running the 2nd Annual Baltimore/Washington Summer Scratch Classic again at BRC Perry Lanes August 15-16, 2009 paying $3,000 1st place GUARANTEED.  Last year we had 139 entries and we expect that number to increase this year. Just like last year, I will be taking reservations via the website: http://www.vmsbt.com/VMSBT_Form.html and you can also view the flyer for the event there as well: http://www.vmsbt.com/BWSSC_2009.pdf

I will also have the pattern up on the website as soon as I determine which pattern I want to use. As some of you may know, I’m a big fan of Kegel patterns and we will have another one this year.

•   Entry fee:  $140 ($115 prize fund, $20 lineage, $5 expenses) payable by CASH ONLY
•   Survival boards: $10/ea (Starting games 2, 4 and 6)
•   High game pot: $40 (covers all 8 games of qualifying)
•   Winner Take All (WTA): $10 (Game 8 ONLY)
•   Brackets: $5/ea (3 sets) Starting games 2, 4 and 6
•   High Game of Day (Included in entry fee)
•   High Senior out of the money prize (50 and over bowlers)
•   High Female out of the money prize

THE LANES WILL BE STRIPPED AND RE-OILED AFTER THE 9AM SQUAD.

Please pass the word along about this great event to all your friends. We are only taking 88 bowlers per squad.

Looking forward to getting those reservations.

For those interested, I'm going to be using the pattern for this event at my monthly VMSBT tournament at Perry Hall Lanes on May 31st.

So if you want a preview of what it's going to play like, come and bowl the May 31st event.

For those interested, the pattern is now posted on VMSBT website. http://www.vmsbt.com/Kegel_Challenge_Series_MIDDLE_ROAD.pdf

I have decided to go with Kegel's "Middle Road" pattern. As stated before, I will be putting this down on May 31st for the monthly VMSBT event at Perry Hall Lanes.

BTW - We are up to 30 entries for the 2009 B/W SSC tournament.

All

Don't forget that I am putting down the pattern for my monthly VMSBT event on May 31st at Perry Hall Lanes. We are going to use the 8 game total wood format.

This will give you guys a real good look as to what it will play like in August.

Bowlers

I am sending out a note to let everyone know I am changing the pattern for Sunday and this summer’s B/W Summer Scratch Classic. I had a chance to bowl on it and had various other bowlers with different styles bowl on it as well. It didn’t hold up as well as it did at Ft. Meade. So, it’s back to the drawing board on the pattern. I am still putting down one of the patterns that I am considering this Sunday to see how it holds up.

I will keep everyone informed as to what I will put down on the website.

See everyone on Sunday.

The deal is that I'm going to throw another pattern at you guys on July 4th. It's a 41' pattern that from what I've seen of it, plays like the original Scorpion pattern (before the Brunswick tweak ) when Kegel did the lanes/patterns for the PBA 6 years ago. We had it one year for the regional at AMF CC. Very fair on both sides as I recall because both left and right had to play from the same angle on their respective sides.

If you've got a left hand, don't be a lefty hater. Just switch and join the party. Otherwise keep on grinding with the other crisscrossers.

I know right! LOL... I have to keep you guys on your toes. I figured we could get 8 games in on a nice pattern. We'll  be done by 1:30 then we can all head to our respective BBQs.

Sounds like a great plan to me!

Entries are trickling in slowly but surely. Don't forget to come to the July 4th 8 game sweeper at Perry Hall Lanes. I am putting down the alternate pattern that I'm using in August.

Come on out and get a sneak peak!

Just wondering since your gonna advertise the pattern anyway, which Kegel pattern is it?  I honestly feel the one you used last month was just about as fair as you can get, however, when you get more guys bowling on it, its hard to tell how long that will hold up.  Just your house hack input

It doesn't have a name but it sounds like the BEATEN PATH pattern. The VIPER was fair but the gutter hooked too much on both sides.. I was looking for something that will make both sides play inside or at least left/right of the 2nd arrow.
