I talked to Jeff who is the owner first of all I bought 4 balls from him this summer gave me a fair deal then I went back to buy 4 more and he would not return calls and then he had the nerve to tell me he had called me at work several times which i recieved no messages.  I purchased another 3 balls from him on his website because on ebay after I purchased the others he had me blocked for some unknown reason.  I paid timely and smooth transaction from my end.  After I got the other balls I got a hotwire had it drilled up and it cracked to left of my middle finger emailed him several times explaining to him that i bought it from him and expected him to warranty the ball.  He told me to have my local proshop take care of the warranty.  So therefore does not give service and stand behind his sales.  Told me that it was probably a bad drill and my pro shop was mad because I bought the ball cheaper online and not for retail from them.  Well I live in a small population area and balls do not sell anywhere close to retail and my driller is a former PBA member for 9 years.  He is retired and drilling balls out of his garage for a past time.  He is not needing to make a BIG profit so he does it for satisfaction of watching someone succeed with a ball he drilled.  I highly do not recommend ballcellar the guy was a real jerk to me.  If you look in his ebay negative feedback on anyone that had a negative you can see by his responses that he was very unproffesional.  Any further questions let me know I would be glad to answer them.

I think you may have several issues you need to work out with ballcellar.

I base that on what you said (I know you are very angry right now and I Understand how you feel. I have felt that way many times before myself.) and on the fact that I have bought several balls from Ballcellar via Ebay and directly. He has never been less than thoughtful and considerate. He even rectified a problem I created when I accidentally asked for and paid for the wrong weight ball. He sent the correct one without a bad or nasty word or an arguement. If he was not a good dealer, this would surely have annoyed him and caused a nasty word or two.

Also I have to believe it is just not realistic to believe that a ball you buy via mail order will be guaranteed by the seller; they are just too many things that can happen to the ball once it is out of his hands to expect him to bear the brunt of it, especially at the low margins they make. Your driller can certainly as the manufacturer's rep when he visits about the ball's cracking. They all visit. I don't know if they keep track of which serisl number they sell to each pro shop or not.

I don't know of any internet or catalog seller who will do that for a ball. Maybe there are some I don't know about. One place does charge drilling insurance, although technically, that is not necessary because manufacturers do guarantee balls, BUT with a lot of exceptions.

Why not call Ballcellar or email him again and pursue this problem from a negotiation or compromise point of view?

I attempted several times to smooth the transaction I asked him if I sent it back if he would warranty it since it carries a manufacturer warranty from storm did not ask for a lot.  I just am a firm believer growing up in a business environment myself and managing a business myself I think you step up and take care of return customers.  I purchased not just 1 ball but several balls from him and paid timely smooth transaction.  Plus I am not the only one who says the guy is a jerk I also talked to a lady I bowl against on Friday who also purchases a lot of balls online and she said the guy treated her like a jerk too.  She also does not recommend him to others.  Someone should not treat you like crap because you have a problem and he was not friendly nor tried to reconcile the problem anyhow.  He also told me if I had someone who knew how to drill balls and had a pro shop why not buy my balls from him????  Ok that means send the customer down the road???  You just do not run a business that way I am sorry you do not say sorry charlie and send your customers down the road that is profits I'm sorry.  I encourage some research in his ebay responses look at anytime he has been confronted with a problem he responds to negative feedback very ignorantly.  Anything smooth he is cool about it.  Otherwise he does not respond to negatives at all.

I agree again. He should not have said that. I was hoping he was just having a bad day, as dealing with all the customers he does, considering all the balls he sells.

I generally try to soothe things over anyway I can, no matter which end of the deal I am on. I am not a professional seller nor buyer, but have had some deals go very bad, none of which were my fault. I prefer compromise over either party's suffering, but sometimes compromise is not an option.

All in all, one can only back up so many steps until one feels backed into a corner, as I can see you feel right now. You did what could.

Better luck with other dealers on ebay and the internet. There are many good people out there, still. If you need a suggestion (I don't think you do.), I have a few who have been good.

This is one area that I like to take pride in for my work.

If I do something wrong, I fix it. I see it as my responsibility for the product I sold.

I do not sell as much as Jeff does but I am ok withthat. I have sold a lot of Storm balls and have dealt with them on several occasions. Storm is a great company to deal with and I am positive they would have sent Jeff a bal lto replace the defective one. It is a simple matter of custoemr service..afterall you are a customer and there is more to a sale than simply colelcting money and trading goods.

Next time you are looking to buy 3-4 balls at a shot Erase This, let meknow I can undoubtedly help you out. And if there is anything wrong I  WILL stand behind it...it was my sale, it remains my problem until the customer is happy.

First of all let me correct your incorrect answer I bowled 5 FRAMES on the ball when it cracked not 10 games I did not even have the ball 3 days and I notified you after drilling it.  Second of all the former PBA member drilling my bowling balls in his garage has a PRO SHOP in his garage and it is a seperate room for drilling balls and it is a pole building with heat and all not just some old garage.  All I simply asked for was some customer service out of Jeff he refused to do anything to help me with the issue did not even ask to see the ball before he ASSumes that he KNOWS what happened to the ball.  I am in business as well and have been raised in several family businesses and quality business try to resolve problems with their customers to avoid negative activity.  I have purchased several balls from ballcellar in the past few months 7 to be exact and I do not appreciate the treatment they give me.  All I ask for is a little cooperation not asking for the moon.  Thanks Coach Tommy for backing me up I am not sure who you are but thanks.  Also for a 5000 bowling ball sales shop you think you would be more concerned about customer service.

well I heard from a couple bowlers in my town that this person was'nt very good to deal with. He has smart remarks and very impolite, as far as ballcellar and coachtommy my bids are on tommy teach em a lesson

Well truthabouttommy of course a buddy is going to try and bail out a buddy.  But let me say the things I said are true and he is very arrogant.  I encourage anyone to read his NEGATIVE posts on his ebay website.  Yes he has many positives but when the situation arises of a problem Jeff goes bananas and acts very unprofessional.  He thinks he is all that and has all the answers without even proper research of the situation and then ASSumes he knows all about what happened.  Well I also encourage you to read all the lingo everywhere.  I have no desire to just shoot crap about someone online for no reason.  I only speak the truth and sometimes the truth hurts.  You really have to give me a reason to respond or I would not say a word just suck it up and never purchase from him again but the joe no public deserves the truth.  So BEWARE and besides who cares about what ABC scores someone has that does not EXEMPT him from being a unprofessional businessman.

If you buy the ball from the internet your dealing with the person you bought the ball from. The guys here will refuse to waste there time on a ball that wasn't bought from them. He might have a proshop guy that are just like mine if thats the case he is stuck with that ball and you his only help to get it resolved for him.

I think this type of discussion becomes futile after a while. Some will believe one person; some will believe the other, based on their inclination, beliefs and experiences. It is very unfortunate when such conflicts arise only, because I do not believe they will be resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

Addiitonally, some distributors and some pro shop will deal in one manner and some will deal in another regarding bolwing ball warranties.

Please don't let this degnerate into another name calling contest.

All I was saying Charlest is that CoachTommy is averaging 244 in our scratch doubles league on here and I am sure he wouldn't be lying about his scores there.  So, He should atleast set the record straight.

Card, I am not criticizing you personally.

What you just said  is just my point: you say the Coach is a great bowler and the other guy says that ballcellar is a great bowler. That does not address the issue, the point which is becoming more fuzzy with each counter-argument. This is not going to be decided here on BR.com
