And because he suffered a hernia last year and was injured the year before.  He would have to be the dumbest pro athlete ever to do that stupid-career-damaging move again.

Plus he still needed 5 on the last fill ball. If the women's final wasn't on afterwards, they may have let him do it if he wanted to after the game was over.

Plus the first time, for your first title it was a pretty cool little thing, to do it for a less grandiose occasion (especially since it was against Bill again) would have been a little tacky IMO. He made the good call.

He did do the flop, I believe. It just wasn't televised. It'll be on next week. I was told that he actually did the flop afterwards.

If the flop is legal (as long as you don't let go of the ball), why don't people use it to jack up the pattern more? (lol, just kidding, I think) I mean, you can walk all over the lane, with ball in hand, someone should change the rule.

He did a flop... after the women completed their match.  Got down over 30 feet!

It's amazing how much oil a shirt picks up from doing the flop!

I sat next to his dad for a while before the first match. He said it's the first time in many years Mike's been healthy. I recall two years ago when he bowled at Taylor, his wrist was wrapped ultra tight, almost to the elbow. And of course, more recently, the sports hernia surgery.

Congrats Mike!

Well he is not very smart and you probably agree with me.

A bowler doing a the flop is analogous to a basketball doing the cookie jar dunk (dunking and sticking your whole arm down the net and hanging there like Vince Carter did).  Why put yourself at risk to get injured?

It's all fun and games until he breaks his wrist and more.

It's about as smart as going head to head with Ray Lewis with no gear on.

May need to change that ...:-)

While that's an entertaining thought, I think people would pick up on you trying to "burn a hole" in the pattern after your 6th or 7th flop with your combination abralon-microfiber sweatshirt soaked in simple green and rubbing alcohol

Considering he was just injured that was a pretty stupid thing to do.
