Why is Kelly Kulick bowling
« on: January 21, 2010, 02:08:58 PM »
Why is she in the TOC?  I know she is a great bowler, but she never won a PBA tournament.  She might have won a women's series event/major, but I just don't get why they put her in there.

All the other guys in the TOC had to defeat some of their fellow competitors at some point to earn a spot.  But Kulick never won a title bowling against any of the other TOC bowlers.  She beat a bunch of women in the Women's World Championship at the WSOB.

I can see that she is doing well.  It doesn't mean she earned her spot.

From PBA.com:

"Kulick, who became the first woman ever to earn a berth in the Tournament of Champions by winning the PBA Women’s World Championship earlier this season"

Maybe they should have had a separate TOC for women.

or she earned her spot and is beating out people like walter ray, the defending player of the year wes mallot, chris barnes, I think shes doing just fine where she is. How mad will you be when she wins? will you quit bowling.

I guess she did earn it by winning the women's event.  I just don't see why that winner deserved a TOC birth.  I think it should be an exclusive tournament for PBA tournament winners.

I won''t quit bowling if she wins.  If she wins, then I guess she proves me wrong.  Its one thing to be able to compete, its another thing to be able to win.  And she HAS NOT shown that she can beat the men and win a tournament.  The TOC is for PBA winners.  I also do not agree with the spot they give to a regional player.

I can see why she's bowling and have no problem's with it. I do beleive that they should allow the 5-6 WPBA winner's from ealier this year that won to be allowed in the TOC as well, not just the 1 WPBA player.

It's okay, with the way the PBA are doing their Live telecast's with not showing entire matches, music between some of the frame's, and a list of other thing's it's not long before the PBA Tour being bowling's historical past.

Great showing by Kelly Kulick...I'd love to see her make the telecast.

2009 Regional Players Championship title gave him his pass into the TOC.  His tour exemption came from Tour Trials.

I agree.  Might as well make it fair.
