dgomie05,
I apologize if I misunderstood. But as I stated previously, I get upset when people forget to congratulate the players who have bowled the best, on any given condition, and bring up lane conditions.
Having been associated with a Major manufacturer, and having had the privilege of working with and competing against players like Barnes, Mika, Parker, Diandra, etc., I have a much better appreciation for their skills in repeating shots and making at the line adjustments to create area.
Let me give you a for instance. I worked for Brunswick for a little over 5 years. During that time, I witnessed, several times, the use of "Throwbot". This is the mechanical device that throws the ball the exact same way every time. Throwbot hits the same spot on the lane, at the same set speed and at the same set rev rate on every shot. The most strikes in a row that the Brunswick technicians have been able to "throw" with Throwbot, without making any adjustments, is 8 in a row. Yet players like I mentioned above will throw strike after strike during a practice session. Why?!? because of their ability to read a lane, make the proper adjustments and make the proper "at the line" adjustments.
Many of the greatest players of all time were/are "feel" players. If they get to the line and "feel" they need to catch it a bit more, or miss it a touch, they do this instinctively and it will appear that they have more area than is really there.
Again dgomie05, I apologize for singling you out. But as I stated previously, please appreciate the players ability for being the best and discuss lane conditions secondarily.
