Joy To The World!

Great bowling Joy Esterson!  If the show you and Liz put on doesn't convince some sponors to bring back a women's tour, there is no justice in this world.  Once again, terrific job and best of luck for the future.

Hey Bill, think she'll come back and bowl our PBA league anymore? She bowled great. It's nice to see someone from Maryland win something.

Well, unless they reoil after the men's semi finals, it could be a much more forgiving shot than when it's fresh.

Congratulations to Joy on her first PBA Woman's Series win!!!!!!

Why can't you just give credit where credit is due?!?

Why can't you just congratulate the winner on their fine bowling?!?

I'm sorry if I have singled you out, dgomie05. But I see this type of comment after every show on this website and the PBA website, and I just can't stand it anymore. A win is a win no matter what the condition.

Who really cares what condition they are bowling on. The players that make the show, Men or Women, are THE BEST that week. Take a hard look at the scores during the week. They were anything but overly inflated.

On the PGA Tour, do you think that the players look down on someone just because the tournament a particular pro wins is the lowest scoring tournament. NO!!!!!!! As I stated above, a win is a win!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless you participated on "the show" today, you have no clue as to what the condition broke down to.

Sorry for the rant, but this is one of the reasons our Sport has trouble gaining recognition.

I'm with K-Dawg here. That might have been the best shot she made the whole game. What I also found interesting was how early that Fury Pearl was rolling. At first glance it looked like a urethane ball. All arc from the time it hit the floor.

    dgomie05,

I apologize if I misunderstood. But as I stated previously, I get upset when people forget to congratulate the players who have bowled the best, on any given condition, and bring up lane conditions.

Having been associated with a Major manufacturer, and having had the privilege of working with and competing against players like Barnes, Mika, Parker, Diandra, etc., I have a much better appreciation for their skills in repeating shots and making at the line adjustments to create area.

Let me give you a for instance. I worked for Brunswick for a little over 5 years. During that time, I witnessed, several times, the use of "Throwbot". This is the mechanical device that throws the ball the exact same way every time. Throwbot hits the same spot on the lane, at the same set speed and at the same set rev rate on every shot. The most strikes in a row that the Brunswick technicians have been able to "throw" with Throwbot, without making any adjustments, is 8 in a row. Yet players like I mentioned above will throw strike after strike during a practice session. Why?!? because of their ability to read a lane, make the proper adjustments and make the proper "at the line" adjustments.

Many of the greatest players of all time were/are "feel" players. If they get to the line and "feel" they need to catch it a bit more, or miss it a touch, they do this instinctively and it will appear that they have more area than is really there.

Again dgomie05, I apologize for singling you out. But as I stated previously, please appreciate the players ability for being the best and discuss lane conditions secondarily.

I would like to vote Verbs last post as "Post of the history of the site". I think that what you said is the most honest thing written.

Personally I think when it came down to it Joy threw as clutch a shot as anybody. She definitely earned evry ounce of that trophy. I also think that match maybe crucial to the survival of women's bowling.

P.S. Verbs glad to hear your able to bowl more now. How's your knee holding up?

Thanks Steve, but I don't work for a ball company anymore so you can stop sucking up. (j/k)

The knee hasn't gotten any worse. That's the good news. They still don't want to do surgery until the meniscus completely tears.

Missed seeing you and everyone else out in Vegas, but I didn't miss having to spend 3 straight weeks in Vegas in June/July like I have had to do since 2002.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!!!!
