Ball review for Rogue Cell #4:
Layout: 50 x 2 1/2 x 40
PAP: 3 5/8 right and 1/16 up
Surface for ball test 4000 and hand polished
Weight hole: on axis
I expected to see the ball hold back and have an over/under look on 41ft THS, but to my surprise, I was real smooth from the front to the mid lane and a little energy kick in the back end. With this ball, I was able to play a tighter line in side. I tried it on fresh and it held quite well, and used it on some heavier play lanes. It worked great on both fresh and heavy used lanes. I hope this information provides a better in site into the versatility of this bowing ball.

Advertised as between the Cell, and the Cell Pearl. Probably accurate. The wife got this one. She is a power player. Doesn't use this one much. To strong for THS. She gets a lot of over under with it. Carry is good when it gets there.

I have 2 Rogue's, 1 is drilled 6X3 and the other is Drilled 5X3. Both read the lane real good, the hitting power is really good, nothing I ever had hits the way these balls do. I was alittle apprehensive in getting these bowling balls at first, I have always had good luck with pearls only, they give the length and don't roll out on me as Solids do. Well these balls don't roll out they just turn and burn, I have had great games with these balls from 269 all the way up to 299. With the 6X3 drilling I shot 2 800's this year, and with the 5X3 shot a 299 and a 800 this year with it. I have kept the cover stock OOB finish and taken care of the coverstock after each 3 set of games, and they look just like they did new. Highly recommend this ball, it reads the lanes real well, and the carry is really really good.

A new Rogue Cell was added to my summer arsenal: a 50 x 3 1/2 x 65 with pin under the ring finger and at 1000Ab. This ball likes the mid lane better then my Mutant Cell, but not as long as my new Mutant Pearl. Wanted to add something in the middle of these two great bowling balls. I found it with this layout. Used it on a 41ft THS and Winding Road and White Pattern #2. Mid length and strong in the back end. Thanks to Mike Sinek for giving the layout idea.

I got my very first Rogue Cell when I was just a senior in High School. It worked so well on the High School shots that now that it is my first year in college bowling at Wright State University, I went out and bought a brand new one for this season. So far it has almost always been the first ball out of my bag at our tournaments. I have mine drilled to have a long arc shape which works wonders on long oil patterns. Overall, this is a great ball to have in your arsenal weather you are a competitive bowler or just starting out.

Likes: The Rogue Cell is an awesome ball. I just got mine on a trade here on ball reviews and it's a ball that will be my new benchmark ball. The coloring on it is incredible and looks great going down the lane and even better after it hits the pins hard for a strike! I found that the length was good enough to get through the heads easy and still have that normal cell backend that everyone expects from this ball line. My favorite thing about this ball is the cover. It has the hybrid blend of the cytoplasmic xl cover that is currently used on the mutant cell and the mutant cell pearl balls. This cover stock was well before it's time and seems to still have more time left in it. I had some great first games with the rogue and can't wait until the summer for the pba experience league to start, this will be my go to ball.

Dislikes: None this ball has filled a large gap in my arsenal and makes me look good in the process. great ball roto!

Likes:The Rogue Cell is my heavy oil ball, I keep it finished at 1500 abralon, and this produces an early roll, and a smooth soft arcing motion to the pocket. Excellent heavy oil ball.

This ball is exactly what Roto Grip says it fits in between the Cell and Cell Pearl. The Rogue is very clean through the front, reads the midlane well, with a strong continuous arc in the backend. The Rogue gets further down the lane than the Cell because of the hybrid cover and has a bit more of a angular move to the pocket than the Cell. When this ball hits the pocket nothing is left standing most of the time. Its still the hardest hitting ball I have in my arsenal. Good job RG!!!

Likes: Very clean up front, nice movement on the backend. Really like the torque the core creates, very nice match with the cover that makes this ball strong but usuable on a couple of different patterns.

Dislikes: Wether a product of drilling or surface, for whatever reason once I get inside of 20 with this piece I tend to get into 2-8-10 or 4 pin land.

I got this ball from a friend who wasnt getting much use out of it, glad I did now. Even though its a older piece, He rarely used it so it was in really good shape. First and foremost, I must say this is one of if not the best looking bowling balls I've ever seen. Looks very nice rolling down the lanes.

Ok now to the important stuff. I needed and intended for this ball to fit in between a Virtual Gravity which is my oiler, and a T-road Solid which was my next strongest ball. There was just too big a gap in between those two, and the Rogue accomplished the task to a tee. When the VG starts checking early, the Rogues gives me a much cleaner look, and a good recovery as well.

This ball's core is very strong, i'm getting well over 5" of flare with it. I will say this, if you like to hook the ball this will be the ball for you! It can cover some real estate in a hurry.

This ball for me with this surface and layout is better suited on a little bit heavier house patterns. Of the two house patterns I've used it on, I liked the heavier pattern much better-it was a bit too much ball for the medium shot for me.

The biggest thing I see that I like from this ball is that while it is very strong, it is controllable strong if that makes sense. Also, I must say it is one of the more readable balls that I've thrown, most of the upper end stuff I've used in the past tended to be very over/under, as well as condition specific, the Rogue tends to be a little more forgiving than most other upper end stuff I've used.

All in all this ball is a great addition for me, I'm glad I have it and I think that because of this ball I will seek more Roto Grip pieces in the future.

Still taking your lunch money one strike at a time, just without a Mission in my bag....

I picked up a used Rogue Cell back in June, and for the price, it couldn't be beat. Even though I have a Defiant and a 919C, I had been wanting to have a ball to go down to once the Defiant starts to leave flat 10s or lose some of its shape. That is where the Rogue Cell comes in.

I used the same stacked 5x3x1 layout as my Defiant, with the exception of placing the pin above the ring finger instead of below. All I can say is that this is one outstanding compliment and has actually become my favorite ball to start with.

The best thing about the Rogue Cell (besides how it looks) is how controllable it is. On heavier patterns, it allows me to open the lane up a bit but keep a controlled look. It is a bit more angular than the Defiant, but handles the carrydown better. Also, it allows me to open up the lane a little more at the same time.

Other things that I really like is how well the ball takes surface changes. I decided to use 2000 AB and that is the sweet spot for me. Predictability is outstanding and it's very easy to read what the ball will do.

Since buying this ball in June, the lowest game with it is a 170. Everything else has been around or above 200. It just flat out works on all of the patterns I have used it on.

Finally, the carry power is outstanding. The core and hybrid cover are a perfect match for each other and rarely have I seen the ball die out. The Rogue Cell is one of the hardest hitting balls that I have thrown to date.

The combination of the core, cover, hitting power, and predictability make this an outstanding addition to my arsenal. If you can find one used (the Rogue Cell is a little tougher to find), it will not disappoint you.
