Outcry = Benchmark ball?

I have the Outcry that I have not drilled yet but I'm going to for this upcoming season, was wondering if it is a good benchmark ball for true medium patterns? What to get the Devour, is that a nice step up from what the outcry is or would I see too much overlap?

I'd say the Out Cry is a pretty viable benchmark option. I don't think you'd see much difference with the Devour

Yeah, was also looking at haywire but I thought that would be to big a gap between it and outcry. IDK maybe not.

I'd almost lean towards a Hysteria and take the polish off of it

Big gap, ofc it depends on the drilling layout but the haywire is a monster, similar shape even one is hybrid and the other is solid, but haywire is around 7 boards stronger for me than the outcry, hope this helps

For a step up from the Outcry, I would look at the Unhinged or Hysteria and research those two. I am not sure on the Devour of overlap due to it being a new release, you would have to check with others that have the ball to get their feedback. I have the Haywire, this ball is very strong, so I would not recommend that ball unless you need something like that.

If your speed is softer, yes. If not, id try to find a Hysteria. Im not sure why they discontinued it.

I'm about 15 to 16mph. My rev rate dominates my ball speed, about 425rpms. The hysteria went fast , that's what scares me about picking one up. If it was truly a nomad solid it would still be in production. I also have a NIB Wrecker and Uproar to build around.

I think the issue with the Hysteria was the colors. Plus, it didn't share the name or core of the Nomad. I think the Hysteria is a viable benchmark when surface is added.

I may just go Haywire, Devour, Wrecker and Uproar. That should give me a nice symmetrical lineup. All of my asymmetric equipment consists of the Mastermind series.

I have all 4 and I'm telling you, you'll probably be disappointed. I guess it could work, if you went with a longer pin distance on the Haywire and shined it, or you went with a stronger pin on the Devour and kept surface on it. For me, the Devour is good going up the lane and when the fronts get a little beat up and you have some swing. Its not a ball that I think you can keep chasing the pattern in. You can start with it, go to something else, then maybe go back to it.

I think the outcry is a perfect benchmark ball for medium conditions. It is a very strong rolling ball for me. I rarely get to use it due to lack of oil. The last time I used it 6 out of 10 bowlers were absent so I had some oil.

Was thinking the same thing, the core isn't super dynamic but the cover I think is a lot stronger than many people may believe for the price point. Thats why I was thinking it would be a good benchmark reaction.
