Help me understand Marketing 101: Timeless.
« on: January 06, 2017, 02:53:14 PM »
R2S hybrid over a medium-high RG, high differential core = Hy-Road.
Add Belmonte's name, change the name of the ball to Timeless and you can add $50 to the price?
Hy-Road - $119.95, Timeless - $169.95

Do I have the right picture?
If so, I've been in the wrong business.

There is no pride in ownership anymore, we all are looking for the next ball before the holes are punched in the ball we just bought.  It's like cell phones, you buy one and two months later a new one comes out and we can't wait until we can upgrade lol.  The manufacturers are taking advantage of consumer behavior nowadays.  PSO's have it tough as they have the classic devil & angel on their shoulders, one saying "oh this is the ball for you" and the other "you really don't need this ball" while trying to run a business.

Nope, it's the American way to blame the companies, not the consumers. Yet on this very website, you have the usual suspects, 1 day after the No Rules is released, guys want a No Rules Pearl. Guess what? The day after the No Rules Pearl drops, guys will be calling for the Hybrid No Rules.

There's a thread here with someone saying the Gauntlet, which isn't out is stronger than the No Rules. Ball isn't out, yet guys can definitively say it's stronger than another ball we have lots of feed back on? Ok.

You baby boomers just don't get it. Clamoring for the glory days and the "back in the 70s and 80s". GIVE. UP. THE. GHOST.

As a Hammer head I will try the Timeless as I am a two hander(since it was influenced by a two hander) and this will be my first ball out of the Hammer line. They say Storm balls smells good LMAO (now that is a gimmick). Aiways wondered why people went to the pro shop to smell Storm balls.

Well, that's better than the experience of having smelly balls.

This method of marketing isn't any different than the Johnny Petraglia LT-48 (all renditions).  Ebonite had Earl Anthony balls.  Brunswick had an Aulby ball also.  If the ball performs well, it may not matter whose name or image is on the ball.

However, I am guessing regardless of the performance, haters of the two-handed style will not be getting the ball.

I'm loving this signature line as I love urethane and can't wait for their signature line with Jesper Svensson. Hopefully it will be a much more dynamic core then the urethane offerings of today. Somewhere along the lines of the sword u or rotogrip fame u would be awesome
If you want a urethane with a dynamic core, give the Visionary "The Crow" a look.  I just ordered one for that very reason.

Sure they did but they also didn't add $50 to the price of a Danger Zone to set the new price for the "Name" balls!
