Intense like Constipation.

I don't know what it is with IT guys these days.  They seem to think adding more and more garbage to a site (flash, movies, huge pics, horrible html coding, etc.) makes the site better.  All it does is slow it down to absolute s***.

Leading the edge of sh**ty sites is ign.com.  Visit that site while looking at your CPU resources and you will see why they rule - rule in horrible webmasters and site design.

You don't know Necromancer? Come on, he's a master of everything and majored in every subject known to man (and a few still unknown by the general public.) He is a physical specimen for us mortals to worship, he knows all of the right people. His only weakness is the 10-pin, alas, no one is perfect. However, if you wish to achieve the next best thing, look to gods favorite creation.

Edit: After going to the site, I agree with Necro. The site is running a lot slower now.

I don't know about intense, but it is different.  Didn't seem slower to me.  I think it's a little easier to navigate than before.  You just have to get used to the new look, I guess.

I expect a new site to be a bit slow since my machine was caching pics and stuff, but now I see it is rather sluggish.  Maybe the pipeline?

You guys know how rarely I agree with Necromancer about anything, but I do agree about the current trend of Flash everything and poor, sloppy coding that bogs down your PC being awful.

That being said, this new Storm site isn't too bad.  The front page has more Flash than I'd like to see, but overall it's not too processor-intensive, and it seems to be decently coded.  (Even the dynamic 3D models of the cores you can rotate work pretty well!)  It's slow right now because of heavy traffic most likely.
