the reign...
« on: July 01, 2009, 01:20:16 AM »
while i am looking forward to seeing what this ball can do, i wonder why storm is being so secretive about this particular ball. no information, no specs, no pic of the core, nothing. it kinda irritates me really. i mean is it really gonna be that great? all i know is that for all that buzz they are creating by not realeasing anything about it, it BETTER be a great ball. its probably all just marketing, to try to generate sales, so i'll do like i always do, wait untill i actually see the ball in action and read reviews to gauge where it will fit im my lineup. what do you guys think?

I guess it's called "suspense".  That's what they are doing.  It's a good marketing tool.  I'm looking forward to seeing this ball in action too.

really i just think they are focusing on the balls they just released i mean that ball comes up august 20 so basically right at the beginning of fall and winter leagues so why focus on piece thats out of season when they just released the natural and virtual energy which were both highly anticipated just last week (the 25th). but in the coming weeks around mid july i expect we will see stuff on it.

I dont know if the final details are even set for this release yet.  From what i know, information for this release got out earlier than anticipated.

Typically all information has been released about a month in advance of the release so it would be safe to assume you will hear more towards the end of the month

Britton, I think it was Buddies that put the picture of the Reign up a while back when the announcements for the Fast & Furious came out.  So yeah, the buzz for the Reign has gone on longer than a lot of balls have.  I thought Storm did it on purpose, but if it was leaked sooner, you'd know better than us, LoL.

Can't wait for yours & Jeff's videos of it though, that's for sure.  I'm sort of wondering where it would fit w/my Attitude Shift & original Shift.  If it's worth adding....

Yea, if i remember correctly a picture was released by accident with a list of new releases so Storm went ahead and released what info they did have finalized about it out...they have nothing to hide!

Storm has a pretty intensive testing process for new releases and takes their time to make sure everything is right rather than rushing stuff out the door...once i get mine or any more info i will be sure to share with everyone

Last time i did a comparison video between two companies i almost got my head torn off by the hammer fanatics because i showed the black widow being equaled to a break from 900 global...it wasnt pretty, so im not sure how many inter-company comparisons i will be doing in the future

I don't know about leaked considering it was distributed by sales reps.  I think everything should be compared from here on out to the Virtual Gravity no matter what brand.../sarcasm off/ inside joke with Britton.

if it was leaked then my bad, i was under the impression they were just hyping the bejesus out of the ball. i'll be the first to tell you how much of a storm guy i am, so it was just kinda weird to see them push a product like that. so is the reign gonna have a new core design, and cover or does anyone know at this point? ive also heard it may be a firestorm remake?

Wise man

I am reminded of the time Lincoln did a TV Ad comparison with a picture of a Cadillac next to a Lincoln. Cadillac boss was asked about the ad, he said: "That was a nice photo of the Cadillac, a very nice photo"

For what it's worth, those of you who are friends of the Storm Bowling Facebook page can go on to the Expo photo section and get a view of the Reign core on the product table..no other info is on there but if you look carefully you can definitely see it.

Buddie's Pro Shop calls it "Cam" weight block. Yeah, I'm interested too.  Especially since it's 1500 grit polished R2S pearl reactive.  Might be a step down from my original Shift.
