BR Track Forum Gone South????
« on: April 25, 2008, 05:09:05 AM »
It seems that this Forum is not what it once was since Ebonite bought Track, Rick left Track and Carl seldom posting anymore. Up until the Ebonite buy out of Track, this forum was one of if not the most popular forums on the BR site, but not any more. Anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

Yep Ebo has ruined it i hate too say, I think they have quietly letting all the staffers go they must feel that we are not all important. Yes BR is pretty much bunch of ball whores and wackos, which i fit in both slots but i have heard we are a small minority from ball reps.

Which says that the 900global guys and the few others that bother with us should be rewarded for these efforts by buying those brands only.

What he said..

I know i'll probably never buy another Track ball ever again.. Sad to say.

I've owned over 20 Track balls before the buy-out, and loved them all! They all did something for my arsenal. I tried a few of the newer ones (Kinetic and Rising especially), and was not impressed. It sucks! This forum was really popular.

Well I have to totally disagree with you. I think the Ebonite buyout is one of the best things that could of happened to Track as well as Columbia. Just look at what they have done with Hammer. Ebonite has the best engineering staff in the industry with Ron and Randy. They are developing core and cover combinations that are unique to each brand and they do not intermingle between brands.

Now with Paul at the helm he has some great ideas for where he is going to take the company and it is pretty exciting to be part of it.

As far as Rick that is a dead subject and Carl is now running three pro shops plus doing tech support for Track so he is an extremely busy individual.

I have stated on here before that I am more than willing to help anyone that needs it. I do work a full time job so I don't get on here as much as I like. So send me a PM. Thats what a lot of people are doing and it makes it easier to focus on thier needs. It's much faster than surfing through all of the threads and posts.

Barry, I am with you all the way on that one. I LOVE my Heist a bunch. It is one of the most user friendly balls I have ever had. Am thinking about getting the Code to compliment it. I am on the verge of going to an an all AMF arsenal based on my experience with the Heist and what I have seen from others that throw the Code, Night Hawk Pearl, Night Hawk Solid, and etc.

Didn't mean to spam my topic here about AMF equipment and I appoligize to all for doing so, but since the subject came up I wanted to say that their current equipment and 900 Global equipment is simply some of the best out there right now, if not the best from what I have seen.

Guined, Track hasn't been very popular around here in the past because of lack of representation and promotion, but with the Kinetic and Rising, the bowlers that do have them, have only been so-so about these balls. They approve of the Temper and Kinetic Energy more than the Rising and Kinetic. I know and agree that Ebonite has done well with the Hammer line of balls, but people still have the same complaints about some of the balls dying an early death just like they do the Ebonite coverstocks. Thus their reluctance to buy the new Track balls for the same reasons, myself included.

I used to really like some of the Track balls like the Track Heat Remake, Havoc, Triton Elite Solid, and such balls, but hated the Track balls like the Xception 5.0 and GP2. Those balls didn't suck up oil and die, but many Ebonite made balls do.

The part about Rick MAY,  be a dead subject WITH YOU AND SOME OTHERS, BUT NOT WITH me and MANY OTHERS !!!!!!!!!!!

As far as Paul, just what has he done so far, because the Track forum here and at the "Track" web page has been dead for some time now (thats what happens when you loose some good people) !!!!!! Haven't seen too many GOOD ideas yet from Paul.

I for one was one of the Track-a-holic members before Ebonite bought out Track, and really enjoyed the forums here. I'm still using my Mean, Power machine, Eq2, and Desert Heat. I have also picked up the new C300 balls, and just don't find the new stuff from Track all that exciting. Actually I don't even know anyone throwing there new stuff. RIP.

10NDPIT;

What I posted was no attack on Paul. He was appointed to the Job May 3, 2007. Again it has almost been a year, just what has he done so far ??

Working to get exposure? A couple of companies come to mind when I seen that, they were Studebaker,  and Delorian.

The attack on Paul is unfair because all 3 of the original balls were done before he could put his "stamp" on them.
We are working on getting more exposure for Track and this will be a new season coming up. Please bare with us and we will do the best we can.
Also I am also here to answer your question about Track Product, either pm me or you can email me at tracktechserv@yahoo.com

this topic is in reference to the Track Forum right here on Ball Reviews and not their web site.

Your attack on Rick was unfair also. Rick was a great person and loved by many on this site and people aren't going to forget him any time soon, if ever. I know I will NEVER forget Rick. He did more for me and helped me more than everyone else put together on this Ball Reviews Forum and he did likewise for many others here also. He was very level headed, explained things and making them so simple that anyone could understand them, would bend over backwards to help anyone in need and was very MATURE and NEVER TROLLED into other ball forums causing trouble like some of the other ball reps and staff members from other ball companies on this Ball Reviews site have done.

That's pretty much how I've seen it since I've started posting on either forum.  However, I must admit it's been less since the merger, and Rick leaving a while afterward.

I really don't see much of an overall difference between pre-merger and post-merger Track.  As someone already said; no representation, no promotion.  Not to mention, as of right now, no one on tour is winning with Track.  I can't even recall the last win.  The players we did have, left when-that next year?

It's really bad when you take a ball to a shop for new grips or whatever, and the shop guy looks shocked cause he thought Track was out of business.  Speaking of the pieces, I still prefer the 'old' pieces over the 'new'.  Out of what I have left, I'll take the PM, Champ, Contender and Phenom against the Temper, Kinetic, Rising, and K.E. anyday.

But I guess this is why I chose Track in the first place.  No matter where I go, I'm typically the only one throwing Track and I like that.

I think it will take some time before the new Track becomes popular but I'm hopefull that things will turn around.I probably won't buy a track ball untill I see a new release that's all the rave,my opinion after owning the rising.
