Week 1 summary:
The lanes we bowled on last night are notorious for being oily and low scoring (for me at least). The last time I bowled on this pair, I shot a BIG 148 game
. Well they were oily, but I was determined not to let this pair get the best of me. I tried the Mutant during practice, but did not have a good reaction, so I pulled out the old reliable Freak Out and had a nice down and in shot all night. I started the last game with the first 7, but came in a little high in the 8th and left a 6 pin. The last two frames I left ringing 7 pins and whiffed the spare shot in the tenth.
Week 2 summary:
I had a slow start last night. My timing and release were off and I struggled the first two games. I used the Freak Out in the first game (playing a little swing shot - 10 to 5) with little success. When I did make a good shot, I left a 7 pin or a 6 pin. I switched to the AU at the end of the first game and moved out to the first arrow. I made better shots as the night went on. The first 9 shots of the last game were all good pocket shots, left one 7 pin in the 3rd and struck in all other frames. I was a little pumped up in the tenth and threw the ball through the breakpoint, leaving the 1,3,9,6. I spared and left another 7 pin on the fill ball.
Week 3 summary:
I used a combination of the Freak Out and Animal Untamed, but my carry was not consistent. I lost count of the 7 pins and I also had two 7-9 splits on what I thought were good shots
. The lanes dried out in the last game and I left several wide-open splits.
Week 4 summary:
Got my 27 pins back from last week
The lanes were quite oily on the left side tonight so I was able to use the Mutant all three games with only a small adjustment in the third game. I played little swing shot (15 out to around 7-8) with a firm wrist up the back of the ball and better than average speed. My carry was pretty good as long as I kept up the back. If I came around the ball a little, I would leave a seven pin. I also left a few ten pins when I used a little too much speed...
