equation vs action packed
« on: October 25, 2006, 12:04:14 PM »
I am trying to get an idea of how these two compare.  I've seen the packed thrown but not the equation. Wondering if anyone has thrown both or seen both and if so what is your impression?  thanks alot.

I haven't thrown both, but i do have a clue on what kind of reactions you'll get from both of them.

Action Packed: More Length, with an overall harder backend

Equation: A little less length, with a little less backend

Each one of them are different in their own ways. They both handle oil differently as well.

I hope this helps

From what I have experenced and seen(layed out similar) the AP is about 3 boards stronger, with a much more violent reaction on the back end. The equation is a bit longer, and smooth off the dry, and needs dry to get off the break unless you're heavy handed. But I have seen extremely angular equations aswell, it mostly depends on the layout and the lanes. What was stated in the begining of this post was (from what I've seen/experenced) how they compair 90% of the time.
To sum it up, the equation is a milder ball for the most part.
Hope that helps

I agree with that the others said...on one point- The Equation is longer than the Action Packed. As far as backend strength...the Equation turns the corner much harder and responds to friction harder than the Action Packed.
