Made a little video, tell me what you think. After the first three shots they turned out the lights for laser bowling so I had to brighten them. I was mostly using the Smokin' Inferno, and 2 shots were the Blazing.

And for those of you that are going to tell me to slow down, I already did. These clips were shot towards the end of May and I fixed the fast feet.

You need new shoes, you've got way too much slide. And from someone who also has that problem, it can really hurt your game.

Yeah its amazing you don't foul and with all that slide staying balanced is ruff, if your in the market for the best and have money to toss around I would suggest Dynorooz Tour Ultras, i have them and they are very comfortable, come wtih interchangeable soles and heels, and are very lightweight and durable.

But on the video not bad, its more of just from the excess sliding you should try to have you shoulders and body square to your target at the line.

Anything with adjustable soles and/or heels.

I bet you your average goes up 10 pins, you can't be consistent while sliding that much at release.

As for the slide, it has come down maybe a few inches because I slowed down my feet and fixed a timing issue in my swing but I'm still consitant. If you watch the video you may be able to see that. My house doesn't allow inconsistancy so I must be consistant.

There is no such thing as "too much slide". There is such a thing as not enough braking though.

If you were balanced over the ball of your foot during the length of your slide, it wouldn't be a problem. But from the video you can see that you're leaning back on your heel trying to stop, but the brakes aren't there for you.

Note 2 things:

1) New shoes are going to force you to change your timing DRASTICALLY. With good brakes you are going to have to start your swing earlier so your ball is back down at your foot when your slide stops & it's time to release. You might be able to achieve this by freeing up your armswing a bit. Get a better pushoff & let the ball swing back freely. Your elbow is really bent & you're muscling the ball back to the top of your backswing.

2) Please consider a shoe that has an adjustable heel with a leather heel option. Since you are doing 3/4 of your sliding on your heels, if you were to put on shoes with a tacky rubber heel right now you might cause damage to your knee. With adjustable heels you'll be able to relearn how to slide & correct your balance issues, without blowing out a kneecap.

Your video is a good example of why IMHO your can be a champion with a cheap ball, but you'll never reach the next level without good shoes.

Agreed - no such thing as too much slide as long as there is balance (Marshall Holman is a prime example).  Your finish position (foot cocked completely sideways) shows that you don't have that balance.  You need to turn your foot to get your body to stop.

Any shoes with interchangable soles/heels is good to fix that.

Actually, I turn my foot (left slide foot) so I don't foul. It is something subconciencesly done and I can't help it.

Yeah, I slowed the feet down but I'm still quick. All but two shots were the Smokin' Inferno, the other two shots were the Blazing Inferno. I'm from Bangor PA and the alley is Bangor Bowling Center.

I haven't viewed your video (old, slow computer), but I have seen a lot of bowlers do this.  When your foot turns it also forces your hips and shoulders to turn.  Now instead of being square with your target line you're facing the adjoining lane.  That destroys your accuracy.  Roll a few games and just concentrate on keeping the toe of your slide foot pointed to your target and staying on balance.  Don't worry about how you score.  I'll bet that by the end of the session you see improvement.  --  JohnP
