God I hate Fedex (Rant) UPDATED

I think when buying balls online, I'm gonna have to start asking what company will be used first. If its fedex, no thanks!

First of all, I use nothing but UPS when I ship because there is a UPS Store here in town. The nearest Fedex ground/Home delivery terminal is about 1 hour away. Sure fedex may save you a couple dollars per package, but they screw up all the time. Out of the last 10 times I have received packages via fedex, at least 4 of those times they either lose my package or put it on the wrong truck and it ends up at the wrong terminal or they say the barcode is unreadable and it sits for a day or 2 before they replace it. I'm just tired of all their fvckups!! UPS does not have this many problems.

Right now I'm waiting on a ball from Ike that was shipped on 6/28/06 and it was scheduled to be delivered today 7/5/06. Thats already a long transit time. Now this morning I tracked it and it ended up going to Raleigh NC instead of Greenville NC. Raleigh is less than 45 minutes from me but my packages usually come from Geenville. I called fedex to see why it was in Raleigh. It was put on the wrong truck. I asked if I could just come pick it up and they tell me no. They are gonna put it back on another truck and pass right by my city and take it another hour on the other side of me to Greenville and then greenville will deliver it 2 days later. New delivery date will be 7/7/06.

Like I said, this is about the 4th time I have had problems with fedex out of the last 10 times. I have grown to hate them with a passion!

Has anyone else ever had this many problems with them?

Update:

Well I received the package today and what do you know....they damaged the ball. The ball was wrapped in plastic bag and then double boxed. It looks as if someone hit the box with the claw of a hammer and it penetrated both boxes and left about a 1 inch long gash deeper than resurfacing will fix. It will have to be plugged to fix. Thanks fedex!

wow, sorry to hear about the ball being damaged. You for sure have had some very bad luck with this whole deal. Like I said, I have shipped over 100 balls and received another 50 or so over the past 2.5 years and never had a ball damaged by fed ex..

It sounds this deal from the beginning was bad.. I am sorry it all ended up this way for you..

Harry, this was not a cheap shot at fedex bud. I have a right to express my opinion and experiences with whatever I want. I don't expect the loyal fedex customers to change. You have a right to use whoever you choose. And who the fvck said I get the last word?!? I posted this topic and it is open for discussion from all parties that choose to share stories. It may be petty to you, but the transit time was not my major beef. As you and jkiser got your facts wrong, this is not the only time I got a package late or had problems. If you would both read instead of briefing, I stated this is about the 4th time out of the last 10 times that different problems have occurred. Labels being replaced, the ball sitting still for days, packages being lost and nobody knows where its at for several days, delivering to the wrong house. The Customer Service is what really ticked me off this time. Read next time before you open your mouth.

Now this has turned into damaged goods since it was delived today. It looks as if it was intentional to me.

hey,

just like you where stating your opinions on stuff, thats all we where doing. I said I was sorry the ball ended up getting damaged and I did read all of your posts.. My only thing was to me its not a big deal if a ball is a couple of days late, thats all I said...

I understand your upset, but no need to bash harry and myself over opinions we made.. I was just explaining that I personally have been very happy with fed ex and not very happy with ups. You are free to use whoever you want for shipping but this could have happened with ups or dhl for that matter. It was just a bad experience with fed ex ground.. NO one is perfect and once again, sorry this unfortanate situation happened to you..

I was referring to harrys's post when I made those comments.. There where alot of things being tossed back and forth and I guess I missed something along the way that you had this happen 4 out of 10 times.. Thats really hard to believe, but I have no reason not to believe you.. Thats just some really terrible luck IMO..

I am sorry if I said anything to offend you, thats was not my intention..

Harry is the one that came here and bashed me. I am not bashing either of you for posting your opinions on fedex or ups.

UPS is shipping faster than ever.  1-3 day ground if shipped from the east to the midwest.  ( depends on how far )    I love me some ups

We have had excellent luck with DHL and the USPS over the years so when I get something from another carrier I'm really surprised at the condition it arrives in.  We buy photo equipment from a place in Oregon and they ship FedEx.  The box looked like it had been through a war.  All our order was hanging out everywhere.    It was slightly damaged.  The UPS guy that delivers is good.  Rings the doorbell and is out in the truck when I get to the door.  He at least waits a minute until I get the package and give him the thumbs up that it is ok.

My first purchase from this board went bad.  Guy ships me 2 balls through fex ex with the correct shipping address, all of a sudden, FEDEX cant find my house.  I came to find that they have no contact with their drivers whatsoever, so I had to schedule a pickup at one of their places because they couldnt find my house.  UPS all the way.

The last time FedEx delivered to my house I was in the garage when the driver put a package inside my screen door.  When he saw me he smiled and said "package for you today".  I went to the door, got the package and noticed it was addressed to someone on another street.  I turned to the truck and tried to yell over the noise of the drivers radio.  As I was yelling (from about 15 feet away) he drove off down the street.  Since this was the third incorrectly delivered package I'd had in a week I put it on the lawn and called fed ex to tell them to pick it up.  They offered to schedule a pick up.  I wasn't having any and told them the box would be on the lawn for a week if they wanted it.  They never came back for it.
