right hander leaving alot of 7 pins??
« on: January 21, 2008, 05:19:16 PM »
i am a right hander and i understand why i sometimes leave a solid 10 pin standing is because the ball doesnt have enough energy on the back end to kick out the 10 pin and needs to get to the pocket just a tad sooner. but now lately i have noticed i am leaving alot of solid 7 pins with a crushing pocket shot. and i have no idea what causes this. i know why sometimes a solid 9 pin or a solid 8 pin still stays standing but have never seen anyone talk about what makes a righty leave a solid 7 pin. when i do leave it, the 10 pin is always last pin to fall and almost leave the 7-10 split. when i hit the pocket it is as flush as it can be.not high not light. dead center of pocket (or so it looks lol) can anyone help me on this issue so i can adjust
thanks
jeff

A weak swishing 7 is pretty obvious you need to get higher into the pocket.

The flush/stuffed seven is the ball just slightly too high in the pocket. The head pin is driven back catching the 2 pin too much on the right side. The 2 is then lifted up and driven into the front of the 4, the 4 goes back right of the seven and the 2 goes airborne up and around the neck of the 7.

The other cause can be the pins slightly off spot.

More speed, slight adjustments with feet, line, ball, etc to get away from the high flush hit. But that leaves you open to more weak 10’s and swisher 7’s.

But generally you don’t leave to many and is hard to adjust away from so I chalk it up to one shot that just didn’t carry.
