Why do YOU get tired when bowling?
« on: February 08, 2007, 12:11:20 PM »
I keep hearing about people that are getting tired while bowling. Im 5'11 165. I am skinny and somewhat Athletic. I throw a 16# ball. Everytime I do an all you can bowl, I bowl at least 25-30 games if Im by myself and after that Im ready to bowl more!

Can anyone else bowl more than 10-15 games without getting tired or how many people can actually bowl more than 3 games a day?

At a tourny about a week ago I bowled ten games, If anything, the little ball speed that I lost after the 5th game actually helped me. Im usually good for 15 games on a give nday, but it also depens on how much I bowled the following days.

Food. If I don't have it, I get tired.

I don't get tired from bowling unless I'm already tired when I get there.  My only problem is that if I bowl a lot my hand gets worn out.  My arm and shoulders can take all I throw at them (6'1", 230lbs), but because I graduated college and am working as an engineer my hands have gotten soft.  I can't bowl much out of league because the house has very little open lane time, so I might have to get a hobby that'll toughen up my hands.

Bowled 12 games last Sunday with the boys from TX at Plano Super Bowl and although I could have done a couple more, after getting my butt kicked around for the better part of the day, I had had enough! G_thing and Charles put a whooping on me that beat me down mentally! Physically, just my hand was a bit sore. Rest of me could have gone a couple more. Won't keep me from trying again in the future!!! Had a blast bowling with some fellow BR members. If you get a chance to get together for a few games, I highly recommend it.

My max has been about 27 games in all you can bowl. I eat during then to keep my energy up. I'm 6'3" and 211 and bowl with a 15 lb ball. Even the best will tire after some time.

Are you talkin average? My average has been going up and I use to be 175-180 doing this, but thanks to alot of hard practice and a few key elements to my game I have been right around 203-205 for the last month and a half.

IT would be like a runner. If you take a sprinter and put them in a marathon, they are going to get tired. If a person is only used to bowling 3 games a week, then they are going to get tired if they try to bowl 15 games in a day.

There is a guy on my Thursday team that has bowled 3 games a week for the last 10 years. There is no way he could bowl more then that. He does not even go in and practice with the rest of us.

BOWLING IS FUN NO MATTER WHAT YOU SCORE. BUT A 300 IS ALWAYS NICE.

STRIKE ZONE, ONSLAUGHT & PYRO. STAND 22 AND THROW 10 OUT TO 5 AND CRUSH THE POCKET. AT LEAST THAT IS THE PLAN OF THE NIGHT...

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD BOWLING!!!

It all depends on whats goin on to me.  I could probably bowl 50 games without stopping if it was for competition & the chance to win money.  But bowling alone....i need a rest & a cig after every game or so.  Its mostly because practice usually doesnt help me much.  I bowl better around better bowlers.  I guess i jsut need to WANT to bowl well to bowl well.

I can get about 7 games per hour in.  The most games I've done in one try is 18 but I do 13-15 pretty regularly.  I did 15 Monday night and followed it up with 9 more on Tuesday night.  I just did another 14 tonight.  I don't get tired but after about 10 games I find a place that wants to start to blister or my thumb out grows it's home.  To prevent this problem on the nights I'm going to get a lot of games I will bowl a game occasionally with my left hand.  I bowled my best games ever tonight.  To date, I had a total of 3 200 games all on separate nights.  Two of them were 208 and one was a 207.  My highest left hand score was 113.  As of tonight my new high is 224 (game 3) and 144 left handed.  I managed to get a 205 in game 6 and a 212 in game 13.  I didn't tire at all but did get sort of bored so I came home.  After a marathon night my left knee usually hurts but feels fine the next day...which is a good thing because I bowl every week night I get a chance and then ride motocross all weekend.

I get tired during regionals and on other tough lane conditions just out of mental exhaustion.

Maniac, how old are you? Many factors come into play when bowling many games!

I know something that tires me out more than the bowling aspect of the game is the mental part! Bowl a tournament over the course of the day, grinding out shots, always trying to make adjustments! That part wears on me the most. I have no problem bowling 15-20-25 games in a day. Heck I am doing it right now during the megabuck tournaments.

I bowled Monday all day.. Had squads of 11-1-3pm and then sweepers at 5-7pm.. I arrived at 1030am and left around 930pm.. almost 12 hrs there! But it is also you bowl 3 games and have to sit for 20-30 mins until the next squad.. It wears after awhile.

Im only 20 lol... I bowl 25-30 games in 2 1/2-3 hours. Just depends on my strike percentage. I actually have been getting so consistant lately its scary... that with strikes I mean lol. Ive been averaging over the last 3 weeks 6-7 strikes a game, but thanks to about 2-3 splits a game my average hasnt been thru the roof.
