Game Ruined
« on: August 25, 2008, 06:27:47 AM »
hey guys, just was gonna post this in here since i mostly throw track, and just to vent a bit. but it seems like my whole game tanked this summer. it seems that once i got my rising drilled, and it was drilled Long, it ruined my whole game. i cant repeat a shot for my life, my game changes every week, clip the fingers EVERY shot on the rising, but not on anything else, i've lost all confidence, all spare shooting ability, and all fun for right now. winter leagues are starting and i am completely lost, i bowled this summer in a pba league, i mean im still at like 190 THS but i used to be 205 on THS before this summer. idk what happened its just like i lost all talent, or luck since i probably started with no talent. Sorry guys just needed to vent a bit.

Im so glad people are brainwashed to think that TRACK sucks. And its even funnier when im carrying with my TRACK ball and they''re going flat ten with their BRUNSWICK ball.

I personally do not bowl on a PBA pattern, however a friend of mine does and since he has bowled on this PBA pattern his thp average is about the same as the PBA , you would think thp would be much higher

I have more than a few ball that I just don't seem to get along with.

I would suggest trying soemthing else and not be ball stubborn because it's new..

If you're missing spares, you're either trying too hard, or not concentrating.  Take it one shot at a time, just roll the ball out through your target.  Don't make things harder than they need to be.  Throw a ball that you're comfortable with, something predictable, something that feels good in your hand.

NJ, we've been talking through PMs a lot, time to time, and I also have a suggestion for you.

Ya know, I really loved my Rising. The reaction out of it was pretty darn nice, but I had to throw it EXACTLY PERFECT just to get that nice reaction/hit at the pins. If there's one thing I may suggest, try throwing something low/midline from Hammer. The Razyr, the Vibe series, the Raw Hammer series.. They're all amazing. My scores have dramatically increased throwing those balls, while my scores with my Rising were nothing where they needed to be. I just shot mid-high 500's with that ball, and low 600's. With my Blue Vibe, I haven't shot below 668 with it.

This is not biased at all, it's just my own personal opinion coming from my own eyes/score monitors.

All Equipment aside it sounds like you have developed a bad habit or two? Why don't you work with a coach in your area to see if you are doing something differently that is causing you issues? You might be squeezing the ball and with an increase in grip pressure its near impossible to repeat shots even on the easiest conditions! Having been through these types of problems myself I understand your disappointment and lack of fun in the game you are experiencing.

Work with someone who knows your game or can spot fundamental problems that would be causing you problems.

What area are you in we may know someone who is qualified in your area to work with?

just get relaxed and get back to the roots... back to the basics.

I ran into the very same problem... had a ball drilled more aggressive then my old one and hoped and "decided" it had to be more aggressive.

But it isn't.

So I force it... I want it so "it" "has" "to" "be"!!!!
I also changed my game to get more speed and more impact... result: Balls skid through...
Till today

finally let the ball work and let it work where it works best not forcing a line into it . ti could never work....
and I was almost back to good...with the new ball.

Maybe you should take a step back... maybe use an old ball...  Just to get confidence back....
Relax pal! You know you can bowl good... so why not do it

CYA next time and then I hear good news from you

so besides anymore equipment bashing, any other ideas what could be wrong. do u think i maybe got some bad habits from trying to overcompensate with the bad drilling? i wish there was a coach near by, but its an hour and a half bus ride if i want to go to a coach, and i cant do that very often.

NJ,

You got alot of guys on here who are coaches, and know how to fix things. I would say get a video of yourself and dont post it on here. Send it to some of us through email, and let us watch it. We can then give you info on how to stop of these things. That way you can practice them and try to get out of whatever funk you are in. We all go through it, every now and again. Getting the help and applying it is what gets you out of it.

Nj,

I can't help your game unless I see you bowl. Tough patterns can make bowlers do things they aren't comfortable with. It's a game of consistency. House patterns with the dry boards out also develope bad habits because the dry is not there on the tougher patterns.

Next, it's not the equipment. Track has some of the best stuff on the market. They admit the Rising isn't for everybody and they have addressed every issue with that ball and fixed it with the Uprising. I drill balls and since it's been out I haven't had any complaints. On the other hand, I get complaints all the time about Bruswick and used to for Rotogrip before the Cell was released.

If people don't give the new Track stuff a shot, then they shouldn't make any judgements.

Personally I can say I've been bowling with their stuff soley for the past 2 years. I don't have any honor scores, but I do have several more series over 750 than I had before I used their equipment and I have more 270+ games than ever before. My leaves are not corners, they are solid 8's or 9's. That just goes to show you how hard the balls hit.

Try a Track ball. I suggest the Kinetic Energy for starters!
