HEX -PLOSION layout help
« on: June 03, 2005, 10:14:33 AM »
I bought a nib Hex-plosion and got it at #15.1 with a top of 2 3/4 oz and pin of 3. I would like this ball drilled up like my Rule. It has a pin below the ring finger and a balance hole.

What should I tell my driller to do? If he matches my Rule drilling with the Hex will it  arc?

My profile would be, stroker 15.5 16 mph. Pap of 4 3/4 up a 1/4. Don't know my axis tilt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will use this ball for s/d at the ABC if they are dry enough.

Thanks

Just a light reminder. The Hex is a completely different ball from the Hex-Plosion. Your title is slightly misleading. (FYI there was also a Hex-Treme.)

The original Hex was, by far, THE ball!

Hexplosion is more of a medium ball. The particle cover will help it smooth out the overall reaction. The WOW 2 cover is a great cover! The ball in general will arc.

Where is the mass bias on the Rule? That could help me out a little more!

Thanks!

Thanks for the help.....

shipper,

If he matches that layout the Hexplosion should definately offer up a nice smooth arc. Even with the identical layout the hexplosion is not going to get into a roll near as early as your Rule. It should be a good complement ball to the Rule.

If you get it drilled and plan on using it for singles and doubles in Baton Rouge...give yourself some time to get used to it. You may want to polish the cover up a bit.

Rick is the only person that I know of that has said they seemed tighter in s+d than in team. The heads are dry up quite a bit before you get to doubles. The Hexplosion works great for me on drier conditions and gives me good length when the heads start to go, but I have a pretty weak drilling on it.

Thanks guys,

I saw your vid EX of you using the Hexplosion and saw how you played it down and in. That is my game. I leave for the ABC in 19 days. That will give me plenty of time to try it out.

Hey shipper,

My doubles set was very dry deep inside, couldn't keep the ball of the nose.  When I flip flopped pairs for singles, that pair was 12 boards tighter then dbls.  I noticed I followed 2 women who were throwing plastic so they pushed it down quite a bit. The rest of the group ( 20 of us) to the left of me had the pairs drier like majority of the guys are saying so I still think you're okay with the Hexplosion for those sets.  Hope this helps some....
