Pure Hammer & Big Block Diesel
« on: April 28, 2004, 05:52:20 PM »
I now see balls called the Pure Hammer and the Big Block Diesel on the approved balls list at www.bowl.com.  The approval date is listed as 4/04 for the Pure Hammer and 3/04 for the Big Block Diesel.  The Switch Blade is listed as approved 2/04 and we still haven't seen that one.

Is Hammer planning an explosion of new releases during the summer?  Does anybody know anything about any of this stuff?

I know that this would be provoking a paroxysm of discussion, speculation, and frenzied research if it was Storm or Lane #1 that had three new balls named, approved by ABC, and in the chute somewhere.

By the way, I know about Bowl Expo.  I get all the magazines and junk mail.

I'm not going to research them, as I knew about them.

I also cannot talk about them.  Sorry no hints.

I have seen the switch blade and big block in action already they exist and will be out soon. I have seen every ebonite ball listed exept the primal instinct, i guess having the same driller as the ebonite/hammer rep helps once in awhile

Btw ebonite/hammer is having a 3 day demo at texas station before bowl expo so that is when these balls are coming out. So i am sure they all exist but i ave not seen all of them yet. The midlane of the switch blade is just mad nuts from watching it roll last friday night, the best blade to date imo-barry

Wow, some news!  You guys got anything else, like particle or reactive, core shapes, RGs, colors...anything to gnaw on until I get to see these critters?

The Deal-  the word on the street is this is a new core shape for Hammer.   It is also quoted as the most skid/flip in the line.   Reactive.

Switch Blade-   Blade core, solid reactive cover.

Pure Hammer-  Hmmmm...bet you couldn't have guessed that this one is black?

Big Block-  power diesel core I think, reactive, I think.

That is the Second hand info I got from the Hammer/Ebonite DSM in my area.  He told me this just this week.

Think you can chew on that for a while without complaining, shiv??

Pure Hammer is blade core with urethane/reactive blend.  Comes with 1000 Abralon.....dull rolls like urethane, shine it, and you have reactive tendencies.  BAsically just like an only FAB Hammer, just a bit stronger.

Big Block is actually the original Diesel weight block, as found in the Diesel Particle, and Reactive Pearl.

Bowlingballreviews.com has pics of several of the new Hammer and Ebonite balls. Man, the V2 sweet looks terrible in that redering. A few of them look cool, however.

The big block diesel did not look pearl to me, if it is a pearl it is mixed with solid like the other balls out there now from rival companies. It has a slight sheen to it but it looked about in 1200 area to me, i will try to get the spec sheet from the box unless it thrown away already.

mrbowlingnut,

Several of Hammer's new release pearls do not look at all like traditional pearls. I have the Diesel Particle Pearl, and it looks like a swirled solid, but it's listed as a pearl. I'm guessing that the Big Block is the same.
