lol! Mushtare in 204TH PLACE! LOL
« on: July 11, 2006, 01:35:11 PM »
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Heading into the 2006 United States Bowling Congress Junior Gold Championships, Robert Mushtare of Carthage, N.Y., had a simple goal. He wanted to average 200 for the tournament.

After two days of qualifying, Mushtare, the only bowler in history to have two certified 900 series, has some work to do to reach his goal. For his first 12 games, Mushtare has totaled 2,234, an average of 186.2.

The 17-year-old right-hander had games of 164, 200, 162, 188, 197 and 177 for 1,088 on Tuesday at Don Carter Tamarac Lanes for a 1,088 total. After Monday's first round, Mushtare sat in 204th place with 1,146.

"I think when I originally set my goal that it was reachable and it still is," said Mushtare, whose two pre-bowled 900 series were officially recognized by USBC last month. "It's going to take a good score tomorrow, but with all the attention and everything it has added pressure that I really didn't need."

Throughout his first two days of competition, Mushtare has been shadowed by a camera crew from ESPN's "Outside the Lines." The segment is tentatively scheduled to air on ESPN in late July.

In order for Mushtare to advance at the Junior Gold Championships, he must have a strong showing in the final six games of qualifying Wednesday. Early projections indicate he needs to average at least 210 to have a chance to make the first cut. The top 154 males will advance to the semifinals on Thursday.

whats funny about it?

LOL- he's a cheat. He says he has had 5 900'S thats 3 PERFECT GAMES in a row 5 TIMES. thats bulhit.

2 were approved my the usbc. I guess whats funny is, that he doesn't have anybody knocking his pins down to win. someone with 2 900's should be one of the best bowlers, in the top 5 or maybe in the lead, but hes in 204th place. He has to average 210 tomorrow, to even get close to the cut.

grow 5 years?

if i went down there at 15 - i know i would get my a$s kicked. I keep an average of 209 - which is pretty damn good for someone my age. Have had over 13 700's and 5 290's. You maybe should re-consider what you just said, since you have so many "honor" scores yourself.

why the didn't you go down there talkin like that?

What I find funny is his lame excuse of the pressure he doesn't need.  You cook the books and it's gonna come back to you.

If you don't like pressure, then don't compete.

Actually, is there any pressure in competing in sports?

I guess when I was 18 and getting my arse shot at in foreign lands, I shoulda just run outta my cover yelling to be shot.  I can't take the pressure, shoot me and get it over with.  AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

The kids a punk is getting what he deserves.

Wolfman...who has won the lottery 5 times? Hmmm? NO ONE. THe odds are almost the same, this kid, who NO ONE has EVER heard of, in a house that he has connections to, during PRE-BOWLING for gods sake, supposedly throws all these 900s. Please....

Oh, by the way, I threw 900 yesterday, don't believe me? Prove I didn't do it.

to bowlingmaniac..

If you said you had TWO 900's, you would be EXPECTED to be in the cut. USBC is getting laughed at by this as well as old Mushtare is, for saying he had two 900's and he is not in the cut. He is making himself look like an idiot as well as USBC.

Would there be this much talk about this if he was leading the pack?

Or would everyone be saying he prebowled those scores too?

I am ashamed for what USBC did for approving two 900s that I feel were not truthfully bowled, but I also feel bad for the kid... no matter what happens with the Junior Gold, be it finish dead last or win it, he'll never be looked upon as an equal in every other bowler's eyes.

Live by the 900, die by the 900, I guess!

He's actually not doing that bad.  More than half of this board wouldn't average 186 on any of the conditions at JOG.  Give a little credit.

Ok, lets see here.  I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he even stated that the lanes put down a big wall for him.  In that same article, I read that he has never bowled on a sport shot.

So knowing that, he could have 2+ 900s.  And he could only average 186 at JOG.  It is quite simple really, but small brains like yours don't really understand.

to the comment about the brains..

its too bad im going to a college prepatory school and in all HONORS classes. You might want to think twice about that as well..

Saying I don't have brains for a 186 avg. in JOG when he was expencted to be the leader, with two 900's.

You don't have brains for thinking a kid at 17 years of age saying he has TWO PERFECT SERIES.
