Sean Rash . . um, wow
« on: December 10, 2006, 04:18:46 AM »
He throws one of the best balls I've ever seen in my life, but he's being a SUPER prick right now.  Being from Kansas and having bowled against him a few times in juniors and seeing him shoot back to back 800's in the state tournament last year, I was naturally a fan, but the stuff he's doing on tv right now is really turning me off.  Yelling at the fans after beating Danny about "Who's your hometown hero now?" (or whatever he said), and then when Parker just playfully threw the towel at him, he just arrogantly flipped it up in the air and sauntered back to his chair.  He's a great bowler and he'll win plenty of tournaments, but I hope he grows up so I can start rooting for him again.

P.S., the Total is a BEAST . .

Sean looked awesome.

The Total looked awesome.

He's fun to watch, I'd say he was riding his emotions of his friends family deaths. He one my my favorites too, Kansas pride baby!

Have to agree, he does throw an awesome ball, but I am rather old school. I have never cared for the chest thumping yelling. I would hope that as he gets older and wiser, he will celebrate a little less enthusiastically and not show up people. I have always looked at an example of sportsmanship like Barry Sanders. Who when he scored would toss the ball to the official and then celebrate quietly with his teammates. I believe Barry's dad taught him a lesson once and told him after scoring a touchdown, "Act like you have been there before, and like you are going to be back again." Sean is a very talented bowler and I understand his enthusiasm, but I would sure love to see him tone it down a little.

Side-line to the telecast. Somebody could make a fortune with me if they could tell me there was a "Dave Ryan voice blocker". Seriously, if I have to hear the "young guns" comments any more, I will vomit.

Rash most definitely has game. Too bad he's an immature, arrogant and smug egomaniac.

What he said and the actions he displayed today in the finals is a testament to the general lack of respect and civility in our society.

I'm all for hand slapping and displaying of emotions but he did it in a way that only served to alienate him from many fans.

Nice work Mr. Rash.........your win means nothing to many of us because you overshadowed it with a ridiculous display of amateurish antics.

I take it you don't like Pete Weber's antics either?

Pete's different.  He's just more of a show-off, he's not quite as offensive as Sean was being, it's been a long time since Pete's tried to show anyone up.

Pete's mellowed alot but even in his 'bad boy" days he didn't come after his opponent directly (he used more of a psyching out/intimidating approach). When Rash approached the audience and shouted "Who's your hometown boy now", or something to that effect, it was a direct slap in the face to Weisman and the fans. It was an utterly classless act. Neither Marshal Holman nor Pete Weber ever in my recollection came after an opponent in that manner. It was a "RASH" comment and one he should apologize for.

I've got to agree about Rash's comments... totally uncalled for.

I realize he was 'in the moment', but at the same time, you can't throw something like that in someone's face... It just comes off as him being a prick.

I'm sure he'll learn to keep it to himself next time.

I seem to recall in the last couple of years, PEte ripped off his sunglasses and yelled "HE IS NOT GOING TO GET IT AGAINST ME, NOT NOW, NOT TONIGHT" He was speaking of someone going after their first title. So if that is not going after an opponent, then I do not know what is.

One thing that I noticed is that Weisman did not seem to be bothered by it. He shook hands and said congrats, good luck. Should he have said it, maybe not. But we have all said something in the heat of a moment that later we see it as stupid. Or said something that when we were young, that we would never dream of saying today. Will he apologize, we do not know. Should he, well, that is up to him. If he feels like he should, then he will. If not, then he will not. But I know that unless he posts it on a web-site or says it on a telecast, we will never know and this will continue. He very well might of walked into the back after the end of the telecast and told Danny that it was not meant as a slap in the face.

BOWLING IS FUN NO MATTER WHAT YOU SCORE. BUT A 300 IS ALWAYS NICE.

STRIKE ZONE & PYRO. STAND 22 AND THROW 10 OUT TO 5 AND CRUSH THE POCKET. AT LEAST THAT IS THE PLAN OF THE NIGHT...

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD BOWLING!!!

Classless, maybe but, it was exciting and I hope he keeps this kind of stuff up (dont worry, I bet we will see him again soon). It is entertainment instead of your usual ho-hum telecast and this is the same reason why so many of you like to watch PDW. Dont be hypocrits here.

I have to say I would much rather see what Sean Rash did today then what Pete does any week!!! Pete just kills me with the crotch chops, the bs on the show. It is completely uncalled for. Where Sean was just talking a little smack. Every watch Patrick Allen out there, he does it on the show. Everyone out there has their own little way of talking their smack. Sean yea he did go a little bit overboard today I will agree. But..... He is a ROOKIE!! He is also a guy who has made 2 telecasts and has 2 titles. How many people can say that?!?! Not many, so you take it for what you want. But he is getting paid to look like that idiot you all are saying he is, while your sitting at home watching him make that money!

And by the way for those of you asking, yes I have known Sean for about 9-10 years now! A very very talented bowler and you just saw it today on that show. Actually on both of his telecasts! I am sure there are many more of those titles in his future!

congrats SEAN!!!

Exactly. I see a ton of hypocrisy in here.

PDW acting like a jackass is all well and good, some lesser known guy acting like a jackass is a travesty, shameful, classless, and immature. Right. I never knew crotch chops and unnecessary yelling were classy, I should break all that out at the next wedding I attend.

Showing up your opponent or not, it doesn't matter. I'm against it every way.

You mean crotch-chops at weddings aren't appropriate?  Maybe that's why I haven't been invited to any lately...

I kind it funny that some of you people can judge someone from watching them on television for an hour(In type of situation noless), and call him a prick, immature and what other crap that has been typed here.

From what I saw of the match PB III made a mistake by switching to the Vapor Zone, and he knew it, but waited too long to switch back to the ball that got him into the championship. If PB III doesn't make the switch, chances are he wins the Classic, and ya'll wouldn't be railing Sean Rush like you are. I though Sean Rush bowled very well, he found the groove and was in the zone throughout the match. Peter Weber has his ways, yet no one rides him for his energy. And, Wiseman during the introductions though he was doing Moto X freestyle.

Another observation, this is the second time I've watched a Storm bowler, bowl the T-Road Pearl and the ball didn't perform as well as the Brunswick Inferno's or the MoRich balls. Perhaps the ball isn't all it's hyped up to be, or it was used on the wrong lane conditions, but it seemed to leave alot of spares.

Just my 2 cents
